Do Your Best
Do Your Best
We live in a world of mediocrity. It just seems that people in general just do enough to get by. Mediocrity and the status quo certainly bring no glory to God. I Corinthians 10:31 says, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
Colossians 3:23-24 states, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” It starts out by saying “whatever you do”, which means we are talking about everything that you do. We are talking about your homework, your job, mowing the lawn, taking a vacation, praying, and brushing your teeth. We are talking about how you spend your time every day all day long. You need to do everything with all of your heart unto the Lord.
One of the deceptions of the enemy is to cause the people of God to settle for less than giving a 100% of our effort to Excellence. One of the CORE VALUES here at the Farmington Heights Church is EXCELLENCE. We value excellence and believe everything we do should be done with a spirit of excellence.
As we “Do Our Best” we bring glory to God and it is the ultimate purpose of life. The glory of God takes us outside ourselves. We live for a higher purpose than pleasure, prosperity and position. Our very existence takes on eternal significance when we make it our aim to honor God. Every single one of us are important and significant to God. Let us pray, “God remove the distraction that may cause us to not fulfill your call upon our lives and remove all distractions that would cause us not to do our best.”
